FINALLY.
Sky Ferreira has announced that her album 'Wild at Heart' will be released this year!
Following Sky has been frustrating, from the Bloodshy brilliance of 'One' to the atmospheric 'American Dream', she's always delivered the goods when it comes to her music, but has struggled to get it released by her record company. There was the ill advised attempt at the commercial hit, the Ryan Tedder produced nothing song 'Obsession', then a fantastic EP 'As If!' that hinted at what Sky would do if only given the chance. However, her long awaited electropop debut 'Cry Baby' failed to materialise, and fans were left wondering if Sky was forever doomed to hipster music blogs and Calvin Klein ads.
BUT NOW...
IT'S COMING
Now I have a feeling there may be some disappointment among fans of Sky's original electronic music. It seems she is going in a more 90's influence, guitar driven organic sound. There have been namedrops of Garbage and the like, which all could be amazing if Sky goes for a hipster grunge vibe that would suit her image well.
Not knowing what tracks will be on the album, I'll leave you with something I think we can all enjoy - her cover of Miike Snow's 'Animal':
And here's a live video of Sky performing at a CK One event:
