I have indeed been away for a while. Too long in fact. Now I can pretend I have a genuine excuse for this or admit now to being a lazy *expletive*, flog myself accordingly and post a video bonanza of stuff to STICK IN YOUR EAR!

Neon Indian - 'Polish Girl'

Now I think this sounds a little like M83 - Midnight City. THIS IS A GOOD THING. That is because a) I love M83 and b) Somehow Radio 1 didn't manage to ruin 'Midnight City' through their massively overplaying it.

But this isn't M83. It just sounds similar.

Alabama Shakes - 'Hold On'

Another one getting the push from Radio 1 at the minute, but don't let that put you off (I sound massively anti-Radio 1 today don't I? I'm not, I promise...). While I'm playing the comparison game, I think the singer in this band sounds a bit Jack White-ish, and this, is once again, A GOOD THING.

iamamiwhoami - 'play'

Now this is how I can tell it's been a while. Last time I was posting, I was posting about 'sever' - which is still AMAZING by the way. Well iamamiwhoami have been prolific in this intervening time and there's not one, but THREE new videos and songs available to download! I debated whether to put in a link to 'Drops', or perhaps 'Good Worker' but in my probably unpopular opinion, I found the visuals of those to be a tad dull, and 'Good Worker' is one of my least favourite songs by them. 'play' however, is hot off the press having been uploaded just a few hours ago, and it's a definite return to form (after that um...two week lull of theirs) with the video having some stunning and all new visual ideas, and the song having an almost conventional club quality to it. Never fear though, in the hands of iamamiwhoami, there's nothing Guetta or generic about it.
